This holiday season plan to stop by and shop the eclectic mix of shops in the Malibu Cross Creek area in the center of town, where you will find not only unique merchandise but will most likely catch a glimpse or two of a local celebrity who will casually stroll by you or be seated at a table next to you in any of the eateries around.

The  Malibu Country Mart is half a block off the Pacific Coast Highway and our original “shopping mall”. It offers chic shopping and sophisticated dining. High end boutiques surround the  gardens, unique sculptures, outdoor dining, picnic areas, and a children’s playground.  The shopping center possesses a unique blend of Mediterranean, modern and rustic architectural style. The Malibu Lumber Yard the newest addition to the shopping experience in Malibu is a collection of eclectic stores in a two-story shopping center that was built on the grounds of an old lumber yard. As a tribute to this, the entire exterior of Malibu Lumber Yard features beautiful hardwood. The contemporary shopping center is unique in the fact that it is home to the largest, completely free-standing aquariums in Los Angeles.  On weekends, Malibu Lumber Yard provides live musical entertainment on their outdoor wooden stage.

In the heart of Malibu’s Civic Center lies Malibu Colony Plaza. This open-air shopping center features Mediterranean style architecture with terracotta roofs. Malibu Colony Plaza has beautifully landscaped, palm-tree lined walkways. Located a few blocks away from the famous residential community of Malibu Colony, the plaza provides its patrons with a perfect mix of upscale dining, retail and services.

The Malibu shopping areas have been featured in many regional and national publications including Travel + Leisure Magazine, 805 Living Magazine, LA Confidential Magazine, Haute Living Magazine, Vanity Fair, and the New York Times.
