Malibu Offers Opportunity For Developers To Stretch The Borders

in How's The Market

Over the last few years, spectacular homes  have popped up in unexpected spots in Malibu and have now been selling for Mega bucks! These are not homes located in the traditional hot spots in Malibu, like Malibu Road, Point Dume, the Colony or even Serra Retreat.  These are homes located in areas that what might have been considered a no, no for the super luxury estates, yet developers have proven that what matters most is style. Designing the Malibu style into a property that may not be located in a prime Malibu location can bring up the value of the property  to match a similar one in a more established and recognized estate area. The most outstanding example of this being the $16,000,000 sale of a gorgeous modern at County Line. This was surprising because the beautiful home is not located on the beach nor in any of the traditional top locations that command such price tags. In fact the area is in Ventura County and unincorporated Malibu. It was certainly the beauty and style of the project and the home that made this sale happen and by its virtue  has now extended the stretch of High Value Malibu real estate another 15 miles out!!

Modern Malibu Home Sold

The best deal for an Architectural home this year was the  The Bridge House  by architect Christopher R. Sorensen. This incredible 7,000 square foot home perched on the hillside with full on views of Point Dume and the entire coast, sold for $5,500,000!

And then we have the Tuscan Villa, an immaculate rendition with all the details and nothing spared with astonishing grounds and 360 degree views of the entire coastline sold for $8,350,000 up off Latigo canyon, a canyon once not invested with luxury properties.
